5 Crews from Grosvenor headed for the National Water Sport Centre in Nottingham on Sunday 14th May and three came back with hard fought Gold Medals within a two hour period mid-afternoon in testing conditions which included a strong headwind over the 1000 metre course

First up were the Women’s Masters D Coxless 4 of Di Moore, Janet Vorberg, Louise Tobias and Val Edwards who beat crews from Upton RC, Lea and Eton Excelsior in 4 mins 13 seconds.

They were followed by the Men’s Masters E Coxed 4 of Iwan Jones, Mike Allwood, Mark Bancroft and George Moir who successfully pulled away from Nottingham RC, Lea RC, Abington and Maidstone Invicta to record a fine win in 4 min 6 secs coxed by Bruce Belcher.

Finally Grosvenor’s Masters D 8 of Iwan Jones, Mike Allwood, Mark Bancroft, George Moir, Jonathan Bryning, Mark Tilston, Jez Perkins and Adam Webster coxed by Bruce Belcher took to the water in a straight final against York City  and Abington RC winning in 3 min 40 seconds.
